Spicy Tramezzini
Tramezzini Piccanti

2 hard-boiled eggs, diced
1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon poppy seeds
2 tablespoons butter
1/8 teaspoon hot red pepper flakes
1/4 cup sharp provolone, grated
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
9 slices sandwich bread, crusts removed



In a bowl mash the hard boiled eggs with a fork and incorporate the olive oil and poppy seeds, mixing until well incorporated. In another bowl cream the butter with the red pepper flakes, provolone and sesame seeds. Cut the bread in half on a diagonal, this will give you 18 slices. Spread the butter mixture on 6 slices of the bread and spread the egg mixture on 6 slices of the bread. Join the 2 halves of bread with the remaining un-garnished slices of bread as a middle layer. Serves 6

Wine Suggestion, dry aromatic white or juicy mediumbodied red
