Mixed Berry Gelato
Gelato di Frutti di Bosco



3⁄4 cup sugar
1 cup whole milk
6 ounces strawberries, hulled
4 ounces blueberries, plus extra
5 ounces red raspberries, plus extra for garnish
juice of 1⁄2 lemon
5 ounces white raspberries for garnish (available at gourmet stores)
mint leaves for garnish

In a saucepan, combine the sugar and milk. Warm over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and set aside to cool. In a food processor, combine
the strawberries, blueberries, red raspberries, the milk sugar mixture and lemon juice and purée until smooth. Transfer the mixture to an ice cream maker and follow the machine’s instructions. To serve, place the additional blueberries and red raspberries and white raspberries in a bowl and toss to combine. Divide the berries evenly among 6 individual dessert plates and top with 3 scoops of gelato. Garnish with mint leaves and serve.
