Pecan Crostata


1 recipe basic pasta frolla
1⁄4 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
31⁄2 tablespoons butter, melted
1⁄4 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1⁄4 tablespoon ginger, freshly grated
1⁄2 cup molasses
11⁄2 cups pecan halves

Prepare the crust according to the basic pasta frolla recipe.
Preheat the oven to 375º. In a bowl, combine the sugar, eggs, butter, cinnamon, ginger and molasses, and mix well to combine. Add the pecans and mix well. Pour the mix into the crust, or spread a thin even layer if making a free-form crust. Transfer to the oven to bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm
